Projeto de Promoção de Sucesso e de Redução de Abandono no Ensino Superior

Academic Success in ULisboa

The Programa de Promoção de Sucesso e Redução de Abandono [Programme to Promote Academic Success and Reduce Higher Education Dropouts], currently funded by the RRF (Recovery and Resilience Facility), aims to encourage the development of mechanisms that support the academic integration of new students and promote their success.

The programme is structured into four groups that integrate different activities.

The first is aimed directly at students, with the purpose of designing and implementing a set of strategies and actions to support them in the process of integration into higher education, while minimising the risk of developing conditions conducive to academic failure and subsequent dropout.

The second is aimed directly at teaching staff. The activities envisaged in it are related to the need to equip them with tools to adopt effective, active and innovative teaching methodologies that enable the improvement of the teaching-learning process.

The third group is directly related to management tools capable of facilitating the detection and alerting of dropout risk situations.

The fourth group also includes a set of general activities, with the main aim of creating the necessary conditions to increase the exchange of good practices between all ULisboa Schools.

The programme was designed and implemented based on the experience and know-how that ULisboa has accumulated through the work carried out in recent years to promote academic success and combat dropouts. It reflects the best international practices and benefits from the contacts and work that has been developed in the context of ULisboa's participation in the European alliance Unite!

The team involved is diverse and highly qualified. It includes teaching, technical and administrative staff and students from all of ULisboa's organic units (Schools, University Administration and Social Services). This varied representation is the result of a network that has been developed and which we intend to increase and enhance.
