Volunteering
The University of Lisbon Volunteering Programme aims to encourage the training and education of members of the academic community, particularly students, regarding the values of social cohesion, tolerance, equality and non-discrimination, with the aim of developing solidarity and promoting active citizenship.
The University of Lisbon’s (ULisboa) Volunteering Programme encompasses the various activities carried out in the Schools, University Administration, Social Services and partner organisations. The programme, which is framed within the University of Lisbon's Volunteer Programme Regulations, is part of its social responsibility policies.
Since 2022, ULisboa has held the Academia Voluntária Quality Seal, awarded by the [António Sérgio Cooperative for the Social Economy] (CASES). This seal was revalidated for the 2024-2025 period, honouring ULisboa for its efforts in promoting volunteering. In 2024, ULisboa was also awarded a merit award by CASES, in recognition of the work carried out by the teams dedicated to promoting volunteering. CASES has only awarded this honour to three Portuguese higher education institutions.
ULisboa offers the , developed through a partnership between the School of Arts and Humanities, the Faculty of Psychology and the Institute of Education. This programme aims to reinforce volunteering skills and contributes to the implementation, dissemination and recognition of this practice in a university context, making it accessible to all university students.
