ULisboa centrality in the Portuguese science and technology system is reflected in the 70 R&D Units funded by FCT, 89% of which are rated Excellent or Very Good
ULisboa 70 Research and Development (R&D) Units funded by (FCT) represent 22% of the total number of R&D Units in Portugal, while their researchers and funding amount to 29% of the national total. They are mostly rated Excellent (49%) or Very Good (40%).
Research at the R&D Units is carried out by around 10,000 PhD researchers.
