redeSUSTENTA
ULisboa’s redeSUSTENTA promotes co-operation between academia and society in order to develop innovative and sustainable solutions, structured around the dimensions of research and innovation, education and students, sustainable campus and community involvement.
The Sustainability Network (redeSUSTENTA) of the University of Lisbon (ULisboa) brings together professors, researchers and staff from ULisboa, as well as students, promoting co-operation between different areas of knowledge and establishing strategic partnerships with companies, public sector entities and civil society organisations. The aim is to foster the exchange of knowledge, disseminate good practices and implement concrete solutions that contribute to national and international sustainability goals.
The redeSUSTENTA acts at the intersection of Science, Innovation and Society, stimulating collaborative actions that respond to national and international challenges through a strategic network of partnerships in the area of Sustainability. To achieve these goals, the network promotes activities and strengthens ULisboa's participation in external platforms, including the European University Unite!.
The redeSUSTENTA is structured around four dimensions of action:
- Research and Innovation – Promoting interdisciplinary research and innovative solutions for sustainability.
- Education and Students – Development of educational programmes and pedagogical initiatives aligned with the principles of sustainability.
- Sustainable Campus (Infrastructures and Operations) – Implementation of effective sustainable management practices in the University's infrastructures and operations.
- Community Involvement and Social Impact – Promoting collaborative initiatives and actions with a positive social impact.
With this approach, redeSUSTENTA strengthens ULisboa's commitment to sustainability and promotes a positive impact on society.
