‘Memórias do Sagrado’ exhibition opens at the IGOT-ULisboa Art Space

Curated by José Manuel Simões, the painting exhibition by the artist Graciete Rosa Rosa, titled ‘Memórias do Sagrado’, was opened on 29 April 2025.

Professor

Inspired by the myths of Icarus and Daedalus, the exhibition offers a profound reflection on timeless themes such as the sacred and the profane, freedom and destiny, rise and fall. Through a language that crosses painting and poetry, Graciete Rosa Rosa explores the friction between opposites - desire and the forbidden, light and shadow - in a constant dialogue between mythological imagery and contemporaneity.

Using refined techniques, rich textures, and carefully constructed plays of light, the artist creates compositions that oscillate between dream and wakefulness, challenging the public's gaze and sensibility.

‘Memórias do Sagrado’ will be on show at the Art Space of the University of Lisbon’s Institute of Geography and Spatial Planning  until 27 June 2025, inviting any and all interested individuals to immerse themselves in this visual and sensory journey.
