From November 3 to 7, 2025, the village of Autrans, France, will be the meeting point for 200 master's and doctoral students, researchers, and industry leaders from across Europe for the second edition of Unite! Research School (URS 2025).
Unite! Research School 2025: Inspiring the Next Generation of European Engineers
The event, focusing on the themes of Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity, Space & Technology, and Biological Engineering, aims to promote scientific excellence and strengthen collaboration between European universities and companies.
URS 2025 offers an intensive, multidisciplinary program that combines expert lectures, transferable skills training, networking sessions, forums with industry leaders, visits to research centers and companies, and a team case study.
More than an academic event, it is an inspiring journey that seeks to motivate master's students to pursue research careers at the doctoral level.
The school's faculty consists of around 50 professors and experts, responsible for teaching high-level scientific courses, coordinated by:
• Space & Technology: Erik Kerstel (UGA) and Eugenio Brusa (Politecnico di Torino)
• Biological Engineering: Stefan Göbel (TU Darmstadt) and Charlotte Hauser (Graz University of Technology)
• AI and Cybersecurity: Miguel Couceiro (Instituto Superior Técnico, University of Lisbon) and Fulvio Valenza (Politecnico di Torino)
Transversal skills will be developed in modules led by Essi Vitaneen (Aalto University), reinforcing URS 2025's focus on the comprehensive training of participants.
The link with industry is another essential pillar of the program. Leading companies such as Air Liquide, Orange, and Teledyne E2V will collaborate with participants through lectures, panel discussions, and technical visits, offering a practical and up-to-date view of the challenges and opportunities of contemporary engineering.
With its combination of science, collaboration, and innovation, URS 2025 symbolizes the spirit of European engineering: open, interdisciplinary, and future-oriented.
