Access and admission in ULisboa
Internationalization and outward visibility make up one of Ǵ’s (ULisboa) strategic guidelines, valuing the plurality of areas of knowledge and multiculturalism. Through the renowned quality of education and research it provides, ULisboa attracts students from all over the World, positioning itself on a perspective of globalization and cooperation towards development.
Internationalization at ULisboa involves the entire academic community with its international partners in educational and research projects. ULisboa has created orientation services in order to fulfil growing demand from international students.
ULisboa is responsible for making the city of Lisbon one of the great European capitals of culture and science, as it welcomes more than 6700 foreign students every year – about 13,5% of the total number of students – from over 100 countries, who are seeking high quality education as well as a different culture, delightful weather and the hospitality that Lisbon, and Portugal, have to offer.
Aiming at attracting an increasing number of foreign students, ULisboa supports its Schools’ efforts to provide educational options in the English language. Its Schools have also contributed to a greater international visibility of the quality of its teaching and research, namely by obtaining international accreditations and by virtue of their positions in World rankings.
The quality of research, innovation and culture of ULisboa’s Schools and Research Units attract an increasing number of international talents looking for research groups to develop their projects at the highest level.
ULisboa has vast experience in mobility programs funded by the European Commission, namely the Erasmus+.
It also actively integrates higher education networks and international associations, establishing contacts with various national and international institutions, promoting participations in research projects, doctoral and exchange programs and offering dual degrees.
