ULisboa’s Research Portal is now available to the public

The ULisboa Research Portal was developed to increase the visibility and impact of ULisboa's research and innovation, taking knowledge ‘from Lisbon to the World’.

Mapa

The publicly accessible provides information on the research carried out at ULisboa by its research community. The data are validated in the Pure system, which is part of the Integrated Scientific Information System of ULisboa  (SIIC ULisboa), a platform designed for efficient and accessible management of scientific activity.

Upon the launch of the ULisboa Research Portal, around 3,260 individual researchers have direct access to Pure. The 137 ULisboa Organisational Units created in the system, including Schools, Departments and Research Units, already reflect the quality and impact of the conducted research, resulting in the access of a wide range of research results. The ULisboa Research Portal contains 108,788 peer-reviewed publications, including more than 66,000 papers, which contribute significantly to the advancement of knowledge and the fulfilment of the Sustainable Development Goals.

Given the high quality of the data validated in the Pure system, the ULisboa Research Portal is launched with the aim of increasing the visibility of ULisboa's research and strengthening its network of collaborations. The portal currently provides information on various research results, including papers, reviews, books, book chapters and contributions to conferences. The curatorial work undertaken by the Organisational Units will soon make it possible to expand the scope of the content, integrating other typologies, such as projects, prizes and activities.

Featured Functionalities

Collaborations Map

The portal offers a comprehensive view of the Map of external Collaborations on a global scale, allowing the search of partnerships at a University, School, Research Unit or Researcher level. Users can select a country and identify the collaborating institutions, making it easier to analyse international cooperation networks.

Network

By selecting an Organisational Unit or a Researcher, the Network feature generates a visual representation of internal and external collaborations. This tool allows the adjustment of the analysis period and the number of collaborations displayed, thus providing a personalised view of scientific connections.

Fingerprint

Based on the abstracts and keywords of the publications imported and validated on Pure, the Fingerprint engine automatically identifies the main research topics associated with the University, Units or Researchers.

Integration with National and International Systems

The SIIC ULisboa project reaffirms its commitment to interoperability, ensuring compliance with international standards. This approach allows researchers to register their data in the Pure system only once, making it easy to reuse on various scientific platforms.

ULisboa is establishing connections with:

  • Institutional repositories and open access networks, such as and , promoting the fulfilment of national and European Open Science and Open Access mandates.
  • , through synchronisation via , allowing researchers to automatically fill in their profiles with publications validated on Pure.
