Students Íris Ribeiro and Sara Cherry were awarded prizes in the NXTGEN DESIGN competition, a partnership between five Design festivals (Mikser Festival, Barcelona Design Week, What Design Can Do Amsterdam, Skopje Design Week and designaustria). This parternship aims to encourage young designers to adopt and disseminate green and sustainable Design that contributes towards an inclusive future.
Students from ULisboa's Lisbon School of Architecture awarded in NXTGEN Design competition

Íris Ribeiro's project, titled "Metal Origami" - developed as part of the Master's programme’s project CU in Product Design in the current academic year - consists of redesigning disposable blades to ensure a sustainable life cycle. This project stands out for its optimisation of production ,its use of materials, and for its technique of manually bending metal, which promises to captivate and entertain the most conscientious consumer.
Sara Cherry's project, titled "SafeTrays" - developed as part of the project course in the 2nd year of the ‘Licenciatura’ degree in Design (in the 2022/23 academic year) - aims to help people with food allergies feel safer when they eat out by ensuring that they have access to information about food allergens and that there is no cross-contamination.
As part of the competition, and as prize-winners, the students will have the opportunity, at one of the festivals that are part of the European project, to live together with other prize-winners.
